Fireworks Night 2007

After cleaning the station and checking the appliances we fired up the BBQ and waited for the sun to set…

Sunset as we wait to get started

First call of the night was to a bonfire without a permit in Maltby Street, Meeanee.

By the time everyone was back on station it was dark enough to have a safe display of fireworks for the children.

The next call was to a fire along the side of Meeanee Road….

….and from there it was straight over to Church Road for some more roadside vegetation on fire.

Mike Burns removes the hydrant as 551 makes up

The final call of the night was to a large grass fire burning up Sugarloaf. After taking 551 as high as possible it was a slog up the hill with forestry packs to deal to the flames. Here 5512 has laid a feeder up from the nearest hydrant.
