He says that should prevent them from being mistaken for police officers in future. Ashes can take up to five days to cool. Place in a metal container, well clear of your home. Always turn off your electric blanket at the wall before getting into bed.   • Fire Bans Imposed As HB Dries Out Councils have today imposed fire bans as Hawkes Bay dries out and fire risks become extreme.
  • Night Turnout By Siren On Saturday night (9-11-2) Taradale Volunteers were turned out by siren after a pager failure. Recently installed on station was a “Siren Control System” from Lockyer Electronics that enables our siren to sound at night only in the event of a pager failure. Our siren has been isolated at night for over five years now.
  • Taradale Volunteers save house Taradale Volunteers were called to a house fire in Elliott St on the afternoon of the 6th of November to find the top story of a split level house well involved. After a quick knockdown major damage was confined to just one room on the top floor.
