A busy Saturday morning with a car wash, sausage sizzle, and raffle ticket sales at the station while down the road at the local supermarket a crew with 551 was handing out fire safety information.

Here our SSO Dennis Bristow gives some TLC to a Ford….

On the 5th December at 17:48 Taradale responded to a MVC in Avondale Road. On arrival a car had left the road, demolished a fence and vegetable garden, and finally crashed through a firewood shed. The driver was cut out after complaining of neck pains.

On the 3rd November at 21:46 Taradale 5512 responded to a 3rd alarm orchard bins on fire in Napier Road, Havelock North. More photos are on NZPA Images.

On arrival the fire was out of control in the stacked bins. While Napier 514 positioned in a driveway Taradale 5512 ran twin feeders from hydrants back in Havelock North.

Napier 514 then extended over the fire and within minutes had flattened it.
